Polls Are Open — They’ll remain open until 7 p.m. Nearly 30% of the city’s registered voters have already cast early ballots — a notable increase compared to November 2021’s early voting numbers. Voters can confirm their polling place using the Virginia Department of Elections’ Citizen Portal webpage. [ALXnow]

Road Closures Coming Next Week — “The City of Alexandria will be conducting investigation and testing work on the streets surrounding City Hall from Nov. 13-20.” N. Tomorrow is Election Day — Most city offices will remain open tomorrow (Tuesday), but local courts, city health facilities, Alexandria City Public Schools and the Department of Motor Vehicles are scheduled to close. [City of Alexandria]

Early Voting Numbers Grow — As of yesterday (Sunday), 29,554 early ballots have been cast in Alexandria — an increase of nearly 9,000 ballots since Tuesday last week. This includes 22,046 in-person ballots and 7,508 mail-in ballots. [Virginia Public Access Project]

On This Day in Alexandria: Museum Hiring — “On October 31, 1850, the Alexandria Council passed a resolution requiring trustees of the Alexandria Museum to hire a ‘suitable person for preservation and exhibition.’ The museum was located in City Hall, which was destroyed by fire in 1871.
