There has been an additional death and there are now more than 512 positive or probable COVID-19 cases in Alexandria, an increase of 38 cases since yesterday, according to the Virginia Department of Health.
There have been 14 fatalities in Alexandria, according to VDH. There have been nine male deaths and five female deaths, and their age breakdown is as follows:
The Virginia Department of Health also reported that there are 74 COVID-19-related hospitalizations in Alexandria, and there have been 1,865 tests administered. The department also revealed that there have been four small outbreaks in the city, three of which occurred at long term care facilities, and the other being an educational setting.
It is not clear how many Alexandrians with COVID-19 have completely recovered, which the total tally does not account for.
Statewide, there have been 349 reported deaths, and there are 10,998 cases (10,627 confirmed, 371 probable) and 1,753 hospitalizations (including 10 probable cases), according to VDH.
