At around 6 p.m., APD received a call from witnesses that a motorcyclist struck two pedestrians.

Virginia State Police have identified the motorcyclist who died after a crash on Interstate 495 in Alexandria on Saturday afternoon as 20-year-old Michael A. Dart of Washington, D.C.

The crash occurred just before 2 p.m. in the local lanes of I-495 westbound near the Telegraph Road exit at mile marker 177, according to VSP.

A cyclist sustained a non-life threatening injury after being struck by a Metro Bus at a busy Alexandria intersection on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 4 p.m. in the area of King Street and S. Walter Reed Drive, according to the police scanner. The area is west of the ramps to Interstate 395.

Two men are being held without bond on multiple charges after allegedly fleeing police, crashing into a light pole and being chased on foot near Alexandria City High School.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9. An Alexandria Police Department officer tried to pull over a 2004 maroon-colored Chevy Impala whose driver had a suspended license, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.

A fundraiser has been launched to help an Alexandria Police Department officer and his family recover from a recent tragedy.

Officer Douglass Servern and his fiancée, Felicia, were expecting twins, but she was involved in a serious vehicle crash and both children were born prematurely and died shortly thereafter.

A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a DASH Bus early this evening on Duke Street in Alexandria’s Landmark area.

A DASH bus driver announced via dispatch that the crash occurred at 5:07 p.m. He reported that the motorcyclist was speeding past the bus as it was turning onto N. Ripley Street.
