U.S. Capitol Police officer injured in motorcycle crash Monday morning in Del Ray

A U.S. Capitol Police motorcycle officer was injured in a crash in Del Ray Monday morning (Dec. 2).

The male officer sustained minor injuries in the crash and the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, according to the Alexandria Police Department. There’s no word from APD on who hit who, and charges have not been filed at this time.

The incident occurred at around 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Russell Road and W. Nelson Avenue. The officer was transported to the hospital, and the roadway was shut down for about an hour.

APD said that the officer was not driving as part of a motorcade. The area is near to the home of Vice President-elect JD Vance.
