JUST IN: Pedestrian struck on Mount Vernon Avenue in Arlandria

A 27-year-old woman was injured when struck by a driver operating a four-door sedan as she crossed Mount Vernon Avenue in Arlandria on Thursday night (March 6).

The woman suffered a non-life threatening injury in the incident, which occurred at around 7 p.m. outside the Exxon Station at 4001 Mount Vernon Avenue.

The woman was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital, according to dispatch.

The driver stayed at the scene.

The incident briefly shut down all northbound traffic at Mount Vernon Avenue and Executive Avenue.
