Nonprofit shop Ten Thousand Villages (915 King Street) recently celebrated 30 years in Old Town.
The shop offers fair trade goods from over 35 countries made by international artisans with fair trade, meaning artisans receive fair prices for their work.

The jury returned a not guilty verdict today (Thursday) in the case Jovan Saunders, who shot the mother of his child in the leg with a shotgun at his home on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 20, 2023. He was also found not guilty of use of a firearm in commission of a malicious wounding.

Thirty-eight Alexandria students were referred to court for alleged criminal activity in the second semester of the last school year, and there was also a significant uptick in the number of incidents requiring a police response.
That’s according to a new system-wide safety report that the School Board will receive on Thursday night.
The Alexandria City Council approved a series of changes to King Street near the Bradlee Shopping Center last night (Tuesday), but the discussion also touched on wider issues about how the City tackles its transportation infrastructure.
