Discovering Alexandria Architecture Walking Tour (via Visit Alexandria)

Get ready to explore Alexandria’s rich architectural heritage this spring with two exciting walking tours. The “Discovering Alexandria Architecture Walking Tour” and the “92nd Historic Garden Week Old Town Alexandria Tour” are set to showcase the city’s diverse architectural styles and hidden gardens.

On April 19 and May 17, 2025, the Discovering Alexandria Architecture Walking Tour invites you to witness the city’s transformation from an 18th-century town to a modern small city. This 90-minute guided tour offers a unique look at Alexandria’s architectural evolution. Space is limited, so be sure to book your spot in advance. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for any weather – the tour goes on rain or shine unless conditions are severe.

For garden enthusiasts, the 92nd Historic Garden Week Old Town Alexandria Tour takes place on April 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is part of the larger Historic Garden Week in Virginia celebration. Participants will have the chance to explore private townhomes and hidden gardens nestled along the historic district’s tree-lined streets. As an added bonus, your ticket includes entry to two Garden Club of Virginia restoration projects: the Gardens at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens, and Green Spring Garden.
