John Babsa, a 35-year-old Virginia resident, has been sentenced to serve an additional 4 years and 3 months of active incarceration for two counts of felony embezzlement and one county of felony money laundering.
Alexandria City Council Member Sarah Bagley won the most votes in Tuesday’s election, making her the presumptive vice mayor-elect.
Bagley won a second term, receiving 42,291 votes in Tuesday’s election, just 664 votes more than Council Member John Taylor Chapman, who got the second-most votes with 41,627 votes.

Parents with young kids can soon get a break. Mulberry Lane Play Café, a new daycare/ cafe/coworking office will officially open its doors in Del Ray on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Here’s the idea: While parents relax or work in an adjacent cafe/coworking office, their one-to-six-year-old kids can hang out for up to three hours at a time in a supervised play area.
