The snow has cleared up and it’s sunny today, with sunny/partly cloudy conditions for the rest of the week until Friday night and Saturday morning, when it’s expected to snow again.

There’s a 70% chance for snow on Friday night, down to 40% on Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service reported that Alexandria saw between 7.5″ of snow in Bryn Mar to 9″ of snow in Rose Hill.

After earlier saying trash collection would slide back a day because of the storm, the City of Alexandria noted in a release yesterday that collection and other services would slide back two days to accommodate snow and ice removal:

The collection schedule for the week of January 6-10 will be:

  • Monday collection will be Wednesday
  • Tuesday collection will be Thursday
  • Wednesday collection will be Friday
  • Thursday collection will be Saturday
