⛈️ Today’s weather: Expect showers and a potential thunderstorm after 2pm, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 84. A west wind at 6 to 8 mph and a 70% chance of precipitation is predicted, with rainfall less than a tenth of an inch, but possibly higher in thunderstorms. For Monday night, showers and a possible thunderstorm before 8pm, a low around 64, and a northwest wind around 10 mph. Precipitation chance is 60% and new rainfall amounts will be similar to daytime.

Police shot and killed 61-year-old Paul G. Behan Jr. in the stairwell of his apartment building at 5101 Maris Avenue. Police were responding to a call from a coworker that Behan was armed and suicidal.
Police said Behan had a weapon with him in the stairwell and was shot by officers after he made a threatening action toward police, though interim Alexandria Police Chief Raul Pedroso would not elaborate more on the incident pending investigation.
