Alexandria’s annual Giving Day, Spring2ACTion, is set for April 9, 2025. The event aims to raise $2.5 million for 170 local nonprofits and hopes to engage 10,000 donors.
Now, in its 15th year, the fundraiser is coming at a crucial time. Many organizations are facing challenges due to federal funding freezes, job market uncertainties, and a growing need for essential services.
“Spring2ACTion is more than just a day of giving—it’s a powerful demonstration of what we can achieve when we come together as a community,” says Heather Peeler, President & CEO of ACT for Alexandria (ACT), which hosts the annual fundraiser. “Alexandria nonprofits are feeling the destabilizing effects of federal funding freezes, employment uncertainties, and an increasing demand for essential services. Our nonprofits are struggling to meet growing needs with fewer resources, declining volunteer support, and fear preventing some residents from seeking help.”
Donors can easily contribute using their phones or computers. The online platform lets you search by organization or cause. Early giving starts March 26 at www.Spring2ACTion.org.
