Agenda: Alexandria welcomed its new Board of Directors and said goodbye to its longtime executive director at its annual planning retreat on June 14.

Steve Davidson takes the helm as the incoming chair. He emphasized the importance of having a space for civil discourse, especially in today’s politically charged climate. The organization, which was established in 1998,  aims to foster informed, fact-based discussions on topics that matter to the community.

The new board brings fresh perspectives with former Vice Mayor Amy Jackson, Zebra Publisher Mary Wadland, and Washington Business Journal Staff Reporter Dan Brendel joining the ranks. Linda App steps into the role of vice chair, with Beth Seltzer as treasurer and Jennifer Rohrbach as secretary. Jackie Bridges, Ginny Franco, Connie Hart, and former Chair Rod Kuckro continue their service on the board.

During the retreat, the board mapped out the upcoming season, deciding to kick off the September program with a topic relevant to high school students and parents.

The organization also took a moment to thank outgoing Executive Director Pat Miller for her dedication. Miller is moving on to focus on other nonprofit projects.

Davidson sees potential for growth, believing there is enough interest from citizens and local businesses to expand their support base and increase program participation.

The next Agenda: Alexandria program is set for September. For those interested in becoming members, information is available at https://www.agendaalexandria.org/give/.
