The NAACP Alexandria Branch, in partnership with the City of Alexandria, proudly announces commemoration of the Juneteenth celebration the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. The event will honor African Americans in the City of Alexandria, our community, our history, our culture, and our continued pursuit of freedom and equality. “Juneteenth is a time for reflection, celebration, and education,” said Darrlynn Franklin, Branch President “We invite the entire community to join us in honoring the resilience and contributions of African Americans throughout history.”
