Alexandria Olympian gave his hometown a shoutout today ahead of his 200-meter final.
“Hey Alexandria, I’m getting another one and we’re getting many more,” Lyles told NBC. “Thank you for all the support, I know you guys are going to be cheering. I can’t wait to see the video of the reactions.”
Lyles won gold in the Men’s 100m and is going for Men’s 200m today. A watch party for the 200m final will be held at Alexandria City High School today (Thursday) from 1-3:30 p.m.
Alexandria has gone all out for the Olympics this year, with Pork Barrel BBQ being standing room only for a watch party on Saturday and a local burger being named after Lyles.
