After years of food trucks, Port City Brewing Company is getting its first fully-fledged restaurant: La Tingeria.
The Alexandria location at 3950 Wheeler Avenue will be the third for La Tingeria, which also has spots in Falls Church and Spotsylvania. The taqueria is expected to open at Port City in October.
“This will be Port City’s first time partnering with a permanent restaurant,” a release said. “The menu will feature chef David Peña’s signature items — cult-favorite goat and beef birria tacos and its namesake, chicken tinga tacos—plus brand new items, such as lamb burger sliders and Sonoran hot dogs wrapped in halal beef bacon.”
The restaurant has been featured on Washingtonian’s 100 Very Best Restaurants list and got a glowing writeup in the Washington Post in 2022.
“Our customers have been asking for more consistent food options,” Port City founder Bill Butcher said in a release. “We are delighted to partner with David and his team at La Tingeria. Their menu is both authentic and unique, and the quality is top notch. Of course, tacos and craft beer are a natural pairing.”
