Pak Soii Izakaya marks Del Ray opening with ribbon cutting today

Eight months after opening on Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray, Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar will hold a ribbon cutting today (Thursday).

The Asian fusion restaurant serving Japanese sushi and Thai street food, the restaurant at 1909 Mount Vernon Avenue had a soft opening last October. The ribbon cutting will be held at 4 p.m. and will be attended by business leaders from the Del Ray Business Association.

Owner Jay Chainam and co-owner Supattra Pummora also own Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas (500 John Carlyle Street) in Alexandria and Tsunami in Frederick, Maryland.

The location was previously home to Zuki Moon, which closed early last year, and the interior was completely renovated.

“We did a lot of mill work inside the restaurant, and that took a lot of time,” Chainam told ALXnow.

Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar is open from 3-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from noon to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

“Inspired by the heart of Thai street alleys and the cozy charm of Japanese Izakayas, we bring you bold flavors, crafted drinks, and warm vibes right in the heart of Bangkok,” Pak Soii Izakaya and Bar shared on Facebook.
