Plans to partially demolish the former Big Wheel Bikes property in Old Town and replace it with a taco restaurant are heading to Alexandria’s Board of Architectural Review.
On June 5 (Thursday), the Board will assess a permit to demolish and a certificate of appropriateness for proposed alterations for the property located a block away from the Potomac River.
The original, one-story building at 2 Prince Street was built in the 1950s and is not historic, according to the city.
The project includes a comprehensive renovation of the existing building, encompassing the removal of all existing windows, the installation of new windows, entry doors, and lighting, as well as the construction of new restrooms and a new floor slab.
