Michigan-based Acorp Services recently closed on a 1.3-acre office building in Old Town North, buying a property assessed at nearly $21 million in value for $9.05 million.

The National Weather Service’s coastal flooding outlook has become more severe in Alexandria.
A Coastal Flood Warning has been issued for Alexandria through 10 a.m. Friday. Forecasters expect tidal flooding to cause up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas around the Potomac River. The warning especially applies to high tide, which are at 7:22 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
As rainfall continued Tuesday, Alexandria could see coastal flooding impacts along the Potomac River through most of the week.
The National Weather Service extended the Coastal Flood Advisory for Alexandria to 2 p.m. Thursday. The risk of coastal flooding on the Potomac River shoreline is greater during high tide. The next high tides will be 6:25 p.m. Tuesday and 6:38 a.m. Wednesday.
Chadwicks in Old Town recently won a write-in effort to be named the winner in ALXnow’s Best bar in Alexandria poll.
With only 15 spots available, Chadwicks (203 The Strand) wasn’t listed in the poll, which was held July 31 to Aug. 14. Owner Trae Lamond says that what followed was a grassroots effort for customers to cast write-in votes. After duplicate votes were excluded, Chadwicks edged out the competition and won the poll.
