Pride celebrations and World Cup watch parties will continue this weekend as the last weekend of June brings numerous events to Alexandria.
The Croatian National Football Team, which has used Alexandria as its World Cup home base, will play Ghana on Saturday. Continues Arcade will gather fans to cheer on the Croatian team.
June’s Pride Month will wrap up with final events like the Pride Prom and Alexandria Pride Fair. There’s also something for all kinds of interests this weekend, from an America 250 Conversational Tour at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum and a Boat Tour hosted by the Waterfront Commission, to The Dog Park’s Kitten Scavenger Hunt.

Pride Prom: Starry Night at Torpedo Factory Art Center
When: 7-11 p.m. Friday, June 26
Safe Space NOVA will host Pride Prom: Starry Night for attendees aged 14-20. The night will bring music, performances, food, dancing, games and more.

Conversational Tour: America250 – Who We Remember
When: 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, June 26
Head to Gadsby’s Tavern Museum for a conversational tour to reflect on its history. Participants will build connections with each other as well as past and present history. Water, soda, locally crafted beer and hard cider will be available for purchase. Tickets are $15, or $12 for Historic Alexandria members.

Waterfront Commission Boat Tour
When: 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, June 27
Alexandria’s Waterfront Commission will host a one-hour boat tour of Alexandria’s waterfront. Boarding begins at 9:30 a.m. at the City Marina, and the tour starts at 10 a.m.

Alexandria Pride Fair
When: 2-6 p.m. Saturday, June 27
The annual Alexandria Pride event will take place at John Carlyle Square Park. Attendees will enjoy an afternoon with live performances, line-dancing, a DJ, mobile art lab, local food vendors, and more than 100 Pride‑affirming programs, organizations and businesses from Alexandria. Families can also join Drag Story Hour. Free and confidential health services will be offered at the event.

Kitten Scavenger Hunt at The Dog Park
When: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 27
What happens when kittens take over six stores in Old Town? Visitors are encouraged to join this scavenger hunt to find them. Each participating store will have at least two adoptable kittens in crates during the two-hour event.

Alexandria Film Festival Presents “Just Sing”

To mark Pride Month, Alexandria Film Festival will celebrate with “Just Sing” at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum. Co-directed by Angelique Molina and Abraham Troen, “Just Sing” is a music-filled documentary following a group of college vocalists on their way to one of the world’s top a cappella stages. . The film will be followed by an audience discussion with cast member Lily Castle. Tickets are $15, and doors open at 3:30 p.m.

Shop the Checkers Boutique Week
When: Through Sunday, June 28
During this ongoing shopping event by Old Town Boutiques, participating retailers will display special Croatian red-and-white checkerboard crest flags at their storefronts and offer promotions and experiences drawn from Croatian culture. Specials include window displays and Croatia-inspired décor to sip and shop promotions, match-day discounts, soccer-themed activities and Adriatic-inspired food experiences. Shoppers can receive a special “Goal Getter” tote bag with a purchase while supplies last.
