Another busy week in Alexandria, one that saw the groundbreaking for the long-awaited replacement of the Landmark Mall site.
Alexandria and Inova leaders met this week for the groundbreaking of Inova Alexandria Hospital. The project, approved last year, will be the centerpiece of a new mixed-use development. The site was once home to Landmark Mall, a thriving commercial center in its heyday, but it decayed dramatically over time when major tenants pulled out. The site briefly received one last moment in the sun as the action centerpiece of a pretty awful Wonder Woman movie.
