A pair of waterfront eateries have joined the ranks of other restaurants across the city reopening for takeout and delivery.
Vola’s Dockside Grill and Riverside Taco Company, both located at 101 N. Union Street at the foot of King Street on the waterfront, are reopening today (Tuesday). Both restaurants will be open every day from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Waterfront restaurant Virtue Feed and Grain (106 S. Union Street) reopened Friday for takeout only.
A new menu is compiled from staff favorites with featured entrees including quesadillas, enchiladas, and short ribs with prices around $15. Family meals are also available with options serving three or six.

The Del Ray Business Association has turned supporting local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic into a game.
A bi-weekly bingo series that started today (Monday) fills a 5×5 card with ways to support local businesses in Del Ray. The goal, according to the association, is to “wear a face mask, maintain social distance, and play for the chance to win $50 in Del Ray Dollars,” which are redeemable at some businesses in Del Ray.
Noe Landini’s family has owned establishments in Alexandria since 1979, and they’ve never faced a challenge like this before.
The 39-year-old Landini now spends his days dashing between his numerous businesses, making sure they stay afloat like a row of spinning plates. He’s had to lay off a majority of the company’s 300 employees, closed the locations in D.C. and suspended development on a number of new projects. His company has been approved to receive federal CARES Act funds, although the money is not yet in the bank.
Arlandria bar Hops N Shine (3410 Mount Vernon Avenue) is running a GoFundMe for its laid-off kitchen staff.
The bar opened last January and has become a local fixture; full to the point of overflowing on Wednesday trivia nights. Like other restaurants, Hops N Shine is operating a limited carry-out and delivery business, and the company said in the GoFundMe that it’s had to minimize the number of employees for financial and health reasons.
