☀️ Today’s weather: Expect cloudy weather and temperatures reaching around a nice 69 degrees. There’s a chance of showers before 11 a.m. — badly needed for the region — and then a sunny afternoon.


The suspect in the assault of the station manager at the Braddock Road Metro station skipped his arraignment Thursday morning (Oct. 31).

Alexandria Circuit Court Judge Rebecca J. Wade issued a bench warrant against Martinez Juan Robertson of Woodbridge for not appearing in court. Robertson was arrested by Metro Transit Police on the morning of Oct. 16 — two days after the incident — and charged with assault and battery, a misdemeanor.


The ribbon was cut at Inova Health Center – Oakville today, promising a future of emergency and outpatient services for many neighborhoods in and around Alexandria.

The facility officially opens on Nov. 6 at 7 a.m., offering a 24/7 emergency department, outpatient surgery, specialty care and more.

Be aware that the School Zone speed limits will now be in effect during the day at Alexandria City High School starting next month.

The City of Alexandria announced an “expanded enforcement of school zone speed limits” beginning on Monday, Nov. 4. The release said school zone speed limits will be active at the King Street and Minnie Howard campuses during the school day, in addition to morning arrival and afternoon dismissals.

☀️ Today’s weather: Expect sunshine and temperatures reaching around 80 degrees accompanied by a southwest wind blowing at 7 to 11 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. Later in the evening, there will be a slight chance of showers after 2 am, partly cloudy skies, and a low temperature near 64 degrees. The southwest wind will be around 11 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 22 mph, and there will be a 20% chance of precipitation.


A nine-year-old child, an adult pedestrian and a motorcyclist were injured in a crash Wednesday night in Old Town (Oct. 30).

At around 6 p.m., APD received a call from witnesses that a motorcyclist struck two pedestrians.
