On Saturday, City Council unanimously an ordinance to allow outdoor dining on the sidewalk at 461 Swann Avenue for Founding Farmers.
The regional restaurant chain wants to open at the Oakville Triangle location in February 2025, according to Founding Farmers.
The outdoor seating will wrap around the exterior of the restaurant, along Richmond Highway (Route 1) and around the corner to Swann Avenue.
According to Founding Farmers:
Spanning about 9,200 square feet, Founding Farmers Alexandria will be open 365 days a year, with seating for approximately 245 guests, a full bar, and an inviting patio area perfect for outdoor dining experiences for our guests. The ordinance allows for a “pergola, fencing, and decorative plantings” to be maintained by the business.
The 12.3-acre Oakville Triangle development is home to the Inova Health Center — Oakville, and other businesses slated to open are Dok Khao Thai Eatery, YogaSix, and Ivy Nail & Spa, according to the Washington Business Journal.
