Regional restaurant chain Founding Farmers is one of three restaurants announced for the in-development Oakville Triangle project and it could include extensive outdoor dining.
An application filed with the Planning Commission for the September meeting outlined plans for outdoor dining along Swann Avenue and Route 1 in an L shape around Founding Farmers.
The Founding Farmers menu focuses on farm-sourced American cuisine, like chicken and waffles or hand-formed burgers. The restaurant has locations around the region. According to the website, the Alexandria location is set to open this fall.
“Our newest location, Founding Farmers Alexandria, will open on the corner of Swann Ave. and Richmond Highway, in the Oakville Triangle site development plan,” the restaurant website said. “Guests can enjoy a full-service restaurant & bar with an inviting patio, open every day (including holidays) serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.”
The Oakville Triangle project is a 12.3 acre development that includes a mix of housing and retail, along with an Inova Healthplex. The project is slated to open sometime this summer.
The Washington Business Journal first reported that Founding Farmers would be joined by Dok Khao Thai Eatery, YogaSix, and Ivy Nail & Spa.
