Notes: Oakville Triangle affordable apartments available soon

There will soon be nearly 50 new affordable apartments available at Oakville Triangle, the new mixed use apartment community next to Potomac Yard.

The city says that, under its Affordable Rental Set-Aside Program, there will be 42 studios, five one-bedroom apartments and two two-bedroom apartments, and that three of the units will be accessible.

According to the city:

Four committed affordable units (one studio, one accessible studio, one 2-bedroom unit, one accessible 2-bedroom unit) will be ready for move-in in July 2024. The rest of the units will be delivered no later than October 2024.

The affordable rents are as follows: Studios at $1,508, one-bedrooms at $1,585, two-bedrooms at $1,894

Residents are responsible for utilities, including water, sewer, and electricity. Units feature in-unit washer/dryer and additional amenities for the property include a pool, fitness center, club room, workstations, and dog wash stations.

The accessible units will feature a side-by-side washer/dryer, accessible height countertops in kitchen and bathrooms, removable cabinet bases at all sinks, a 30” workspace in the kitchen, grab bars in bathrooms (upon request), and appropriate clearance in rooms and doorways.

Applications will be accepted via email and at 450 Swann Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301. Applicants will be required to provide proof of income (two most recent paystubs or three months of bank statements and last year’s W2) and declaration of all other assets and income.

The property will start accepting applications on July 1. To qualify for a unit, an applicant’s total household income (before taxes) may not exceed:

One Person —  $64,980

Two People  –$74,280

Three People — $83,580

Four People — $92,820

To qualify for a unit, an applicant’s total household income must be at a minimum:

Studios — $45,240

One-Bedroom — $47,550

Two-Bedroom — $56,820
