It’s been another busy week, with one of the most pivotal stories being a fatal police shooting on Monday night.

Police shot and killed 61-year-old Paul G. Behan Jr. in the stairwell of his apartment building at 5101 Maris Avenue. Police were responding to a call from a coworker that Behan was armed and suicidal.

Police said Behan had a weapon with him in the stairwell and was shot by officers after he made a threatening action toward police, though interim Alexandria Police Chief Raul Pedroso would not elaborate more on the incident pending investigation.
