Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday) for a new production at The Little Theatre of Alexandria next month.

The Old Town theatre is preparing to show “School of Rock,” a musical based on the 2003 movie of the same name starring Jack Black. The production will run from Feb. 7-28, with 8 p.m. showings Thursday through Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. at 600 Wolfe Street.

Bah! Humbug! The Little Theatre of Alexandria will be holding auditions for its upcoming performances of A Christmas Carol.

The play will be performed at the venue (600 Wolfe Street) from Dec. 6 to 20, and auditions will be held next month. Young actors ages 8 to 16, and adults aged 35+ are asked to apply, as are men 55 years old and older to play the cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge.

The production features music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein. Kevin Sockwell directs the show at the theater’s 600 Wolfe St. location.

The Little Theatre of Alexandria will present “The Play That Goes Wrong,” an award-winning comedy opening this weekend, which combines a classic murder mystery with chaotic mishaps and madcap humor.

Described by the Huffington Post as “the funniest play Broadway has ever seen,” the production runs from June 7 through June 28, at the theater’s location at 600 Wolfe Street.

The Little Theatre of Alexandria will present Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” to the stage with a fresh, modern spin, beginning Saturday, March 29.

Director Joey Pierce and producers Margaret Chapman and Christine Tankersly are setting the classic comedy in present-day New Orleans.
