A robbery was reported at the Tobacco Hut (3500 Mount Vernon Avenue) in Arlandria.

Robbers in black puffy jackets and ski masks reportedly took around $400 from the store and implied that they had weapons, according to the police scanner.

Scanner traffic indicated the suspects left the scene in a car.

The 3500 block of Mount Vernon Avenue has seen multiple robberies in the last year, though those robberies generally favor the more lucrative Wells Fargo bank next door.

The Alexandria Police Department said the city responded to two separate robberies in different parts of the city last night.

In both cases, police said a weapon was displayed, but no one was injured.

Police said one occurred at 30 S. Reynolds Street just after 3 a.m. Scanner traffic indicated the robbery was at the 7-Eleven and the robbers showed a handgun before taking an ATM.

The other robbery was on the 1600 block of N. Quaker Lane less than half an hour later. That incident also involved robbers taking an ATM, according to the scanner.

A similar incident was reported last night in Fairfax on Franconia Road.

Robbers also hit multiple 7-Elevens at the same time earlier this year.

This isn’t the first time this year robbers have tried to take ATMs: a truck crashed into a Del Ray CVS in May and tried to steal an ATM.
