Alexandria police investigate armed robbery near Holmes Run Trail

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred near the Holmes Run Trail last night (Monday).

Around 8:15 p.m., a male victim reported to APD that a masked man had approached him with a handgun at the 200 block of S. Jenkins Street before stealing his driver’s license and debit card. The suspect reportedly fled in the direction of the Holmes Run Trail, according to APD dispatches.

No injuries were reported. The suspect was described as being about six feet tall with a thin build. At the time of the incident, he reportedly wore a fur-lined dark jacket, dark clothing and a black face mask.
