A GoFundMe campaign has started to help an auto technician who was severely injured in a car crash in the 100 block of N. Telegraph Road on June 12.
John Debley, who is an automotive technician for Land Rover Alexandria, stopped on the side of the road to help change the tire of a Toyota Sienna van that was involved a minor crash. While changing the tire, a black 2010 Nissan Rogue crashed into his Toyota and pinned Debley.
A man was stabbed in the Braddock area on Friday night, adding to a number of violent incidents to occur in the area in recent days.
The incident took place around the 800 block of N Patrick Street, near the Braddock Road Metro station and the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority public housing units.

An adult male is in custody after gunshots were fired in the Braddock early on Saturday morning.
This was the second incident of gunfire in the city since July 9, and police are investigating whether the cases are connected. No victims were located, according to the city.
Alexandria Police are investigating a robbery from a person in the city’s West End early on Thursday night.
At around 6:30 p.m., a person was struck by a chair inside a business in the 200 block of S. Van Dorn Street and robbed of personal items. The victim received minor injuries.

Alexandria Police Officer Jonathan Griffin has been charged with assault and battery for an unjustified use of force against a handcuffed resident in January, according to the city.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter said that 32-year-old, who was dismissed from the department after the incident, was charged with one count of assault and battery. The charge is a Class 1 misdemeanor and the maximum penalty is a year in prison and a $2,500 fine.
