The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Wind Advisory for Alexandria and portions of Washington, D.C.; Maryland; Virginia; and Wester Virginia.
The wind advisory, which is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday (April 15), expects west winds of 20 to 25 miles per hour and gusts of 45 to 50 miles per hour. The NWS warns that winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

A motor vehicle collision has closed an eastbound lane on Duke Street.
Alexandria Police Department (APD) shared on social media on Monday (April 14) at 2:29 p.m. that eastbound Duke Street is closed to one lane due to a collision involving three vehicles. According to APD, there are serious injuries.
