On This Day in Alexandria History — “On April 15, 1791, the first boundary stone of the District of Columbia was laid at Jones Point in Alexandria. During a ceremony, the Alexandria Masonic Lodge set the stone at the south corner of the boundary of the new federal district.” [Historic Alexandria]
