Adoptable pet of the week: Handsome Chino is a well-rounded companion

Meet Chino, a sweet young dog at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria in the market for a new home.

This handsome 3-year-old is reported to have good house manners and crate training, and he loves everyone he meets. He’d like to show off his smarts with the cues for sit, paw and down.

“Since he is so motivated, there is no end to what he can learn!” an AWLA volunteer told ALXnow. “Once he gets to know you, you will see Chino for the sweet, affectionate dog that he is.”

Chino has a smooth black coat and weighs 58 pounds. He has lived with cats and dogs at his previous home but would do better with older children. When he joins his forever family, he will enjoy naps on the coach, handling stuffed animals and playing a game of fetch and tug.

“In general, he is a pretty well-rounded dog who will make a great companion for a lucky person or family,” the volunteer said.

Interested adopters can contact AWLA and visit Chino during the shelter’s regular adoption hours:

  • Noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
  • Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
