NWS issues another Winter Weather Advisory throughout N. Va. tonight

Following this morning’s wintry weather, the National Weather Service has issued another Winter Weather Advisory for Northern Virginia and the D.C. region.

The advisory goes into effect at 7 p.m. this evening (Friday) and will last until 1 a.m. Saturday, warning of freezing rain and drizzle, with a “light glaze of ice expected.”

Alexandria residents should be prepared for the possibility of “very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges” throughout the region.

EST SATURDAY…

* WHAT…Light freezing rain and drizzle, with a light glaze of ice
expected.

* WHERE…Washington DC, and portions of central, northern, and
southern Maryland, and central and northern Virginia.

* WHEN…From 7 PM this evening to 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…In addition to light freezing rain, drizzle
and fog, any melted snow will refreeze as temperatures drop back
into the 20s.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
