Old Town office building plans entry, plaza renovations

A quiet off-the-beaten-path area just off King Street in Old Town is getting an upgrade.

Simpson Development Company recently filed plans from Louis Barbieri, Cole & Denny Architects to renovate the entry vestibule at 100 N. Pitt Street and the small, rear plaza adjacent to 115. N. St. Asaph Street in Old Town. The request for alterations and signage will be presented to the city’s Board of Architectural Review on Wednesday, September 3.

The office building is next door to the CVS at 501 King Street.

According to the application:

This project consists of renovating the entry vestibule to 100 N. Pitt Street and renovating the rear plaza adjacent to 115 N. St. Asaph Street. Entrance vestibule demolition includes the removal of existing built-in brick planters and existing storefront glass. Plaza demolition includes the removal of an existing metal guard rail and a low brick wall. Entrance vestibule renovations include an interior elevator lobby remodel, enclosure of the existing masonry openings with new storefront glazing, addition of an overhead louvered sunshade canopy, and addition of 24-inch aeriel back-lit address signage in black anodized aluminum. Plaza renovations include installation of a metal privacy screen, new guard rail and handrails at existing steps and provision of outdoor planters.
