Alexandria’s biggest day of giving, Spring2ACTion, returns for its 15th anniversary today. This 24-hour online event event aims to boost philanthropy, increase funding for local charities, and help these organizations reach more supporters.
“Our community is better when we give together. Want to provide equitable opportunities for our children and youth to succeed? To enrich and support our lively art scene? To connect animals to a safe and loving forever home? Do you want to ensure the health of all Alexandrians so that they can thrive in our city? Spring2ACTion is our chance to do that together,” Spring2Actions website states.
Last year’s event saw 7,808 donors contribute $2.96 million to 188 nonprofits in just one day. Since it began in 2011, Spring2ACTion, which is organized by ACT for Alexandria, has raised an impressive $23 million for 200 nonprofits in Alexandria, with over 75,000 donors getting involved.
