The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for early Wednesday morning (April 9), from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The warning covers areas along and east of I-95 in Maryland and northern Virginia, including Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, and parts of Fairfax County.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 20s and lower 30s. The National Weather Service cautions that if left unprotected, these freezing conditions could harm crops and sensitive plants and may damage outdoor plumbing. Residents are advised to take immediate action to protect vulnerable plants from the cold.
This freeze warning is unusual for early April, when the region typically experiences milder spring temperatures.
