A 32-year-old Alexandria man has been found guilty for pimping out his girlfriend from his apartment.
Orayl Ingram was convicted on Feb. 28 for pandering and sex trafficking. He is currently being held without bond in the city jail, and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison for each offense. His sentencing is scheduled for June 5.
The victim contacted the Alexandria Police Department in March 2024 to report that she’d been working as a prostitute with her boyfriend for six months.
According to the office of Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter:
The victim related that, over the course of approximately 6 months and at the defendant’s request, she engaged in multiple weekly sexual encounters. The victim was typically paid cash, which she then gave to the defendant. She related that the defendant handled all communications and arrangements with the prospective customers…
A mobile device registered to the victim but recovered from the defendant’s person at the time of his arrest showed evidence of communications with prostitution customers as well as draft advertisements for sexual services. These ads matched similar ads found on websites for prostitution and trafficking.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys Harsh Voruganti and Alyssa Rumbuc.
