Alexandria’s private Bishop Ireton High School has adopted a “Just Say No” policy on cell phones and other electronic devices banning them from classrooms, Zebra reported.

The policy aligns fairly closely with Alexandria City Public Schools’ policy and the new Virginia Department of Education guidelines.

The Bishop Ireton policy says if a cell phone, smartwatch or personal listening device is brought into school, it must be powered off and stored in a student’s locker or backpack during the day (similar to ACPS policy). If a student is found to have a device with them during the instructional day, it will be confiscated and taken to the Dean of Students.
