Suspects in Alexandria liquor store theft tied to 15 other incidents in Fairfax County

Four suspects arrested on Memorial Day after allegedly robbing a Virginia ABC store in the West End have been connected to 15 other liquor store thefts in Fairfax County totaling $72,000 in stolen merchandise.

Jomarice Jequan Evans, 27, was arrested with three juveniles after allegedly robbing a Virginia ABC store at 3161 Duke Street, fleeing in a stolen car and then crashing into multiple cars before being arrested on foot in Del Ray.

Evans is being held without bond and was charged with being a principal in a second-degree robbery, possession of burglarious tools, felony eluding, reckless driving, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, driving without an operator’s license, driving without insurance, felony hit-and-run and auto theft.

The Fairfax County Police Department connected Evans and his alleged conspirators to an investigation of thefts from 15 liquor stores that began in March. FCPD said that in each instance, suspects load carts with alcohol and then flee in a vehicle.

The juveniles were arrested in D.C. on June 27 by the U.S. Marshals and FCPD Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Unit, and charged with three counts of grand larceny and larceny with intent to sell.
