Four suspects were arrested on Memorial Day after allegedly robbing a Virginia ABC store in the West End, fleeing in a stolen car and then crashing into multiple cars before being arrested on foot in Del Ray.

The Alexandria Police Department notified dispatch of a stolen white Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound on Quaker Lane and Seminary Road. The Elantra with Maryland tags was stolen out of Prince George’s County, and crashed into a parked vehicle a mile-and-a-half later at Fontaine Street and W. Braddock Road.

The four male suspects took off again after crashing, but didn’t get far. They crashed less than a mile later into another car near the intersection of W. Braddock Road and W. Alexandria Avenue. The suspects then jumped out of the car and were caught minutes later by police, according to dispatch.

Three of the suspects are juveniles and the driver is an adult. Soon after their arrest, police connected the dots between the suspects and an alleged robbery at the Virginia ABC Store at 3161 Duke Street. Just before the chase, a suspect was videotaped allegedly assaulting a store employee before fleeing the store with an undisclosed amount of liquor, according to dispatch.

Jomarice Jequan Evans was arrested with three juveniles, according to APD. Evans was charged with being a principal in a second-degree robbery, possession of burglarious tools, felony eluding, reckless driving, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, driving without an operator’s license, driving without insurance, felony hit-and-run and auto theft.
