Another busy week in Alexandria, this one with multiple appearances by the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.

The first was the bridge opening on Tuesday night, the second of a pair of openings related to the Clipper Round the World Race  yacht race.

The second is an ongoing debate about whether or not to allow toll lanes on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson and regional transit advocates expressed concerns that the conversion of space on the bridge to toll lanes could hinder future Metro rail plans for the bridge, while Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chair Jeff McKay argued that utilizing the toll lanes for buses could instead build an argument down the road for the need for better transit options on the bridge.
