One of the top stories this week was an assault in the Potomac Yard neighborhood.

Late in the evening on Saturday, a woman called the police and said that after parking her car on the 2200 block of Main Line Blvd, an unknown man attacked her, tried to pull her into an alley, and tried to force her pants off.

Police announced this morning that an adult male suspect was arrested in another jurisdiction. No name or mugshot was released.

According to a release:

The suspect is in custody in another jurisdiction after being arrested for a crime he committed in that jurisdiction, unrelated to what occurred in Alexandria. It is the policy of the Alexandria Police Department not to interfere in a case being investigated and prosecuted within another jurisdiction. The Main Line Boulevard investigation is still active and it is our goal to maintain the integrity of this case for the best possible outcome.
