A 26-year-old Alexandria man faces drug and trespassing charges after his mother asked police to search her home in the northeast section of the city.
The man was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 5, after a series of events that began the previous night.

(Updated 8 p.m.) Alexandria Police are investigating alleged drug possession and distribution at Episcopal High School, one of the most exclusive private boarding schools in the country.
On Dec. 8, police responded to a narcotics complaint at Episcopal and met with the school’s attorney, according to a search warrant affidavit. The officer was told that a week prior, on Dec. 1, two students were found to be allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Alexandria police officers responding to a domestic situation at a high-rise apartment building Monday night were confronted by a wanted man who allegedly attempted to run over officers as he made good his escape.
Police responded around 7 p.m. to the Foundry Apartments at 2470 Manderville Lane, a couple of blocks from the Eisenhower Avenue Metro station, after a woman called police and said she was concerned about her ex-boyfriend, who reportedly had a knife and broke her phone.

A local juvenile was also killed in a fatal shooting this past weekend, though police said there’s no threat to public safety and the death is being considered an isolated incident.

A 24-year-old Alexandria man is being held without bond after allegedly strangling his girlfriend.
Antar Christmas was arrested on December 8 and charged with domestic assault and battery and impeding blood circulation or respiration of a family/household member. He is being held without bond in the Alexandria jail.
Police are investigating a shots fired incident in the 800 block of West Glebe Road in the Arlandria neighborhood.
The Alexandria Police Department said in a press release that one person was reported to be ‘grazed’ and that police were on the scene around 7 p.m. last night investigating.

(Updated at 12 a.m, Friday, Dec. 17.) The two school resource officers at Alexandria City High School have been removed from their posts and placed on administrative leave after a “serious complaint,” according to the Alexandria Police Department.
“APD takes complaints regarding misconduct seriously and is working diligently to investigate this situation,” the department told ALXnow.
