Curtains will be closing this Friday on a temporary tour of Gadsby’s Tavern Museum inspired by the musical “Hamilton” but an encore may already be in the works.

Tickets for the specialty tour, dubbed “Hamilton’s BFFs and Frenemies,” have already sold out for the summer run, which is ending this week, a city spokeswoman said. The city’s Office of Historic Alexandria is making plans to offer the same tour this fall at the museum, located at 134 N. Royal Street, though dates have not yet been set, she said.

A 37-year-old Maryland man suspected in a domestic assault was arrested Saturday night after being bitten by an Alexandria Police Department K-9 officer in Old Town.

The incident occurred at around 9 p.m. in the 300 block of N. West Street. The suspect allegedly brandished a weapon and pointed it at an unknown age female and male, threw the woman to the ground and punched the male in the face before driving off in a black SUV.

MAI Glo Spa will formally open to the public on August 1 at 803 Franklin Street. The spa is located in the southwest quadrant of the city, directly across the street from the 7-Eleven at 800 Franklin Street.

Two male juveniles were arrested after an armed robbery on the bike trail between the King St. and Braddock Road Metro stations on Saturday night.

No one was injured in the incident at Metro Linear Park, which occurred at around 11 p.m., according to dispatch reports.

The Friendship Firehouse Festival on Saturday, Aug. 5, brings the Alexandria Fire Department’s equipment out for display alongside other community activities. Children will receive free fire helmets and can visit the City’s fire trucks.
