A massive outdoor celebration of international food is making its return for its eighth year to Old Town’s Oronoco Bay Park next week.
Around the World Cultural Food Festival, the largest outdoor cultural food festival in the region, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. in Oronoco Bay Park.
“This festival offers an immersive experience where attendees can savor authentic traditional foods from various cultures while enjoying a vibrant folk show with singers and dancers from around the globe,” a release said. “This year, we are taking our patrons on a one-day trip around the world, presenting the cuisine, culture, and traditions of nearly fifty (50) countries.”
Countries at the festival include China, Egypt, Greece, Guyana, Palestine and more.
The festival features only one vendor per country. The release noted that, in addition to food, there will be folk dances and performances from 12 countries and a wide selection of goods from 110 international artisans and crafters.
“We invite everyone to indulge in the diverse dishes our food vendors carefully prepare and present,” the release said. “Admission to the festival is free, with plenty of food and beverages available for purchase.”
