The man charged in the June 10 fatal stabbing of 32-year-old Marvin Waters at a Huntington Metro station bus stop was living in a storage unit in Alexandria, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
Robert Andrew Reed was arrested on June 15 in the bus bay area of the Huntington Metro station.
More details have been released on the apprehension of the suspect in the alleged abduction and sexual assault of two women near two Alexandria Metro stations on May 30.
One of the incidents occurred near the Braddock Road Metro station, and the victim told police she was followed out of the station by a man, grabbed from behind, and wrestled on the ground. The victim recounted that she was able to get away from the suspect and then hit him on the head with her purse before fleeing and calling the police, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.
A 35-year-old man has been charged in connection to an attempted bank robbery in Old Town on Tuesday, June 24.
Jonathan Levar Robinson has been charged as the suspect wearing a mask, entering the M&T Bank at 833 S. Washington Street, passing the teller a note and demanding cash, according to the Alexandria Police Department. The incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m.

Jeffrey Gary, 35, a Georgetown Law graduate, was employed as an assistant division chief by the Federal Communications Commission up until his June 1 arrest. He was released Friday (June 13) on four bonds totaling $14,000, according to court records.

Over the last weekend, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security removed its list of sanctuary jurisdictions, which included Alexandria, from its website. The list contained numerous errors, including localities being mentioned multiple times, as well as towns being incorrectly designated as cities. “DHS did not provide any information regarding the criteria used to compile the list, any sources or research used for the designation, or a response to local governments seeking clarification,” Mayor Gaskins told ALXnow. “As a result, they published a list that was wrong and mischaracterized cities like ours. We follow the law and uphold the constitutional and civil rights of our residents.”
After his motorcycle was stolen during a test drive, an Alexandria man tracked it down days later on Facebook Marketplace.
The incident occurred at the victim’s business in the 4900 block of Eisenhower Avenue on Thursday, March 20. The victim listed his blue 2004 Suzuki GSX-R9600 for sale on Facebook Marketplace, and the suspect reached out via Facebook Messenger and asked for a test drive, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit. The suspect allegedly took the bike for a ride and never returned, and on March 25 the victim found the motorcycle listed in another Facebook Marketplace ad.

Two days later, the Alexandria Police Department was notified by a license plate reader that a car belonging to the suspect, Danny Cardoza Lara, was located in the parking lot of a hotel in the 100 block of S. Bragg Street in the city’s West End.
A woman is safe after allegedly being abducted and assaulted by a naked man along the Mount Vernon Trail in Old Town North earlier this month.
“The suspect pinned both of her forearms down and she fought to break free,” police said a recently released search warrant affidavit. “(The victim) said she realized the suspect was fully naked when he was on top of her and she saw his penis. (The victim) tried to push him away specifically with her right hand to the suspect’s left arm. (The victim) said she yelled and the suspect covered her mouth with his hand. The suspect told her, ‘Do you want to die?'”
More charges have been filed against a 34-year-old Alexandria man accused of firing and brandishing a handgun from his car at other drivers.
Perry Ellis Barmore was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony and released to home detention last month for multiple road rage incidents in Maryland in 2024. On April 18, Barmore was arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Service and the Maryland State Police and charged with attempted murder and felony assault.
