Chanel likes hanging out in an office more than her cage. Every day, she and about 10 other “office animals” are let out to play in offices at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.
“A shelter isn’t a natural environment for an animal,” AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter told ALXnow. “We’ve got seven dogs and three cats in offices right now, and we do whatever we can make this experience better and more comfortable for them.”
Kitties Kaleidoscope and her brother Lincoln Log are scratching around for a new home with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.
The three-month-old siblings are up for adoption during a period known as “Kitten Season”, where AWLA starts to receive an influx of young cats.

“Shadow is a cat with a job and is certainly serving as the ‘office mew-nager for our adoptions and care team,” AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter told ALXnow. “Her paws-on leadership technique means that she might sometimes be watching you over your shoulder, but she’s more likely to be supervising from your lap.”
