Two teenagers and an adult were arrested and charged with malicious wounding after an alleged attempted robbery that left a teenager with non-life-threatening stab wounds in Alexandria’s West End.

The victim reported the incident to police at around 3:20 p.m. Thursday, April 23 in the 2100 block of N. Early Street, which is near the intersection with W. Braddock Road. The victim told police he was approached by four Hispanic males, and that one of them — wearing a black ski mask and holding a knife — stabbed him in the face, according to Alexandria Police Department dispatches.

A 28-year-old Alexandria man is being held without bond after being charged with rape, strangulation, sexual battery and domestic assault and battery, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.

The victim reported at Alexandria Police Department headquarters in the early morning of Tuesday, March 24, that she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend the night before in the 5300 block of Knole Court in the Alexandria West neighborhood. The victim told police she was assaulted at around 11 p.m. after an argument with her ex-boyfriend, who is the father of their two children, according to the search warrant affidavit.

A pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run on King Street on Wednesday night (April 22).

The Alexandria Fire and Police Departments received multiple calls around 11 p.m. reporting that a man had been struck by a vehicle near the intersection of King Street and Park Road in the Taylor Run neighborhood, near the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. The striking vehicle was described in radio dispatches as a Ford pickup truck of unknown color missing its passenger-side mirror.

A D.C. man and an Alexandria man are facing multiple charges after an attempted armed robbery in Alexandria’s Braddock neighborhood, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.

The victim reported to the Alexandria Police Department that on Sunday, March 8, masked men assaulted her and attempted to rob her. The victim told police she was in her car in the 1200 block of Wythe Street when she was approached by two men wearing masks, and that one of them “grabbed her by the throat and told her to pay her $30 that she owed him,” according to the affidavit.

A pedestrian was killed in a crash in Old Town North yesterday (Monday), according to Alexandria police and fire radio dispatches.

The Alexandria Police Department responded to the fatal crash involving a pedestrian at St. Asaph and Montgomery Streets around 5:26 p.m. According to radio dispatches, multiple callers reported that the pedestrian was down and not breathing.

An 11-year-old boy suffered non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection near William Ramsay Elementary School in the West End on Wednesday evening, according to Alexandria Police Department radio dispatches.

The incident occurred just after 6 p.m. in the 5700 block of Sanger Avenue near the intersection with Derby Court. The driver of the vehicle that struck the child stayed at the scene, according to the radio dispatches.

Police responded to Windmill Hill Park in Old Town for a death investigation this evening (Wednesday), according to the Alexandria Police Department.

Just before 4:30 p.m., police were called to the area of S. Union and Wilkes Street for a reported suicide with a gun, according to police radio dispatches. Police said there was a heavy police presence at the park, and there is no public safety concern.

A public hearing will be held Thursday (April 16) on the revised memorandum of understanding between the Alexandria City School Board and the Alexandria Police Department.

Alexandria City Public Schools is required to have an MOU with the police department due to the presence of school resource officers in schools, and it must be reviewed at least every two years. The proposed agreement would be in effect from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028.

A Virginia state trooper was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 495 near Telegraph Road in Alexandria Tuesday night while pursuing a fleeing suspect following a crash.

The suspect, Gregory S. Newton, 57, of Springfield, was later arrested with help from Metro Transit Police at the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station in D.C. He was charged with assault on a police officer, hit and run, driving on a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance and eluding police.

Alexandria police and fire are responding to the West End for a pedestrian crash this afternoon (Tuesday).

The pedestrian was struck around 3:22 p.m. in the area of N. Van Dorn Street and Sanger Avenue, according to the police and fire scanner. Alexandria Police Department spokesperson Rebekka Heite told ALXnow the pedestrian is an adult woman.

A driver was cited with failure to pay full time attention after a pedestrian was struck and  injured in Del Ray on Saturday (April 4), according to the Alexandria Police Department.

APD and the Alexandria Fire Department arrived on scene just after 4 p.m. in response to the pedestrian crash at the intersection of Mount Vernon Avenue and E. Braddock Road.
