A juvenile pedestrian was struck in the Arlandria neighborhood Monday afternoon, leading to a police and fire response.
The crash was reported around 3:49 p.m. at Mount Vernon Avenue and Russell Road.
The family of the pedestrian told ALXnow the boy is expected to be ok after the crash. According to scanner traffic, the pedestrian was reported to be conscious and had wounds from the crash.
Police have not shared details of the vehicle involved in the crash.
As the investigation continues, traffic is being redirected at the Russell Road intersection near the 3800 block of Mount Vernon Avenue. APD requested dispatchers notify Metro about the closure that could affect bus routes.
